Heritage Walk around Longridge

There will be a guided walk around Longridge, pointing out the history of Longridge on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th September starting at 2pm from the Heritage Centre in Berry Lane.  The walks will last for about an hour and involve an uphill walk which will be taken slowly as points of interest are pointed out on Berry Lane the main street in Longridge.

All are welcome, the walk is free, with donations to the Heritage Centre welcome.  Please let Jean Hill know if you intend to join the walk on 01772 780520 as numbers will be limited.

2018 Displays & Exhibitions

January/February The Longridge Band.
March/April 100 Years of Women’s Votes (incorporating local women of note.)
May/June Lancashire Food and Cookery (incorporating Longridge linked bakeries and catering outlets and changing trends.)
July/August 70th Anniversary of the NHS (incorporating local doctors, Health Centres, Clinics, Whittingham and Ribchester Hospital’s. Preston hospitals etc.)
September/October Heritage Open Weekend.  Exhibitions linking with St. Lawrence Church exhibition + Heritage walks.
November Remembrance possibly linking with Barnacre Road and St. Cecilia’s.  Final WW1 Commemorations.
December A – Z of Christmas.

*Other exhibitions are ongoing and changing regularly featuring “What`s On in the Ribble Valley” and National and Local events.

*There are also plans to take Power Point talks and also drama to the wider community, care homes  and schools  during the year.    

We are currently looking for volunteers to help in reception as well as support with our ongoing exhibits and projects
